BooFest! At Barefoot Landing, An Annual Tradition for the Whole Family

Posted in Special Events

Not just kids love Halloween. At Barefoot Landing, we do too! A favorite event is the upcoming BooFest! in which children get a chance to be whoever or whatever they want to be all for fun and a chance to win prizes! This year's annual BooFest! will be held on Saturday, October 26th from noon to 4 pm in the Dockside Village by the children's playground and the Crooked Hammock Brewery Stage.

The day starts with activities for the kids including discounted ride packages, a balloon artist, characters, and of course time to enjoy the playground. You don't want to forget about the most important part, registration for the costume contests. Kids up to 12 years old as well as pets can register starting at 11 am until 12 pm when the pets' contest starts. Three and under children will strut their stuff next, followed by the 4 to 7 year olds, and finally the 8 to 12 year olds will finish out the day. There will be a first, second and third place awarded in each group, so there are many chances to win!

Guest emcee, WPDE's own Ed Piotrowski will be introducing the contestants so the judges can then make the very difficult decision of which superhero, princess, cartoon character or other costume should take home the top prizes.

Fun is the name of the game, so let the kids pick their favorite ghost, goblin or superstar and bring them out for an afternoon full of it. Moms and dads can get into the spirit and dress up too.

Then the Halloween favorite, Hocus Pocus will be shown that evening on the Crooked Hammock Brewery Stage at 7 pm. Bring a blanket or chairs with the whole family to watch this free showing.

And don't forget on Halloween night Thursday, October 31st from 5pm to 7pm, you can bring the family back to Barefoot Landing to trick-or-treat with your favorite shops and eateries in a safe family friendly environment!
