Barefoot Landing's second annual SeptemberFest! event is coming up on Saturday, September 17th from noon to 4 pm. The Flavor of the Landing allows patrons the opportunity to sample food from many excellent Barefoot Landing restaurants and lite fare locations. Food tickets can be purchased in $1 increments for up to $5 per item allowing you to try out everything from ribs and shrimp to ice cream, popcorn and more! A portion of the proceeds benefits the Low Country Food Bank. Booths for purchasing tickets will be located in the Lakeview Courtyard, in front of the Christmas Mouse and by TBonz. Beverages will be available at numerous locations including beer specials by Dick's in the Lakeview Courtyard and at Frothy Dog.
There will also be kids' activities including face painting, super heroes and princesses doing meet and greets and discounts on the rides in the Lakeview Courtyard. Live entertainment includes Backfire playing on the Lakeview stage by Castano's, Jodi Hunter, acoustic guitarist, playing by the Frothy Dog and Don Colton, jazz saxophonist, playing by TBonz. Cars will be on display in the parking lot and many stores will feature seasonal sales.
Barefoot Landing is proud to partner with The Low Country Food Bank. This charitable organization distributes 24 million pounds of food including more than five million pounds of produce each year, which in turn is then distributed to local food banks, shelters and other organizations that feed the hungry in 11 counties on the East Coast of South Carolina.
A few facts about the Low Country Food Bank:
- Nearly 50 percent of their clients are children and seniors.
- Seventy-five percent of their clients must choose between paying for food and medical care.
- Sixty-seven percent of their clients have incomes below the federal poverty level.
