The American Cancer Society, Barefoot Landing and the Flying Fish Public Market & Grill invite you to "FLOCK THIS WAY". October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Barefoot Landing has made plans to "PINK OUT"! Pink will be the color of choice for the month of October with decorations within the stores and throughout the complex.
The signature event is the "Pink Your Flamingo" Flock Walk and Auction in which art created by local artists (and amateurs) will be on display at Flying Fish from the beginning of October until the grand event on October 12th. All patrons are invited to vote for their favorite flamingo. Vote casting will be available at the display area of Flying Fish in the front of the restaurant. The top five flamingos from the voting will then proceed to the final "Celebrity Judging" to be held at the Flying Fish on Oct.12 to determine the winner. There will also be a "People's Choice" winner. All flamingos will then be available for sale at the live auction following the 4th Annual Flock Walk with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society, Breast Cancer Research and Relay for Life of North Myrtle Beach and Little River.

Make sure to "Flock" to Barefoot, Oct. 12th, for the fourth annual "FLOCK WALK". The walk is to demonstrate the community's commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness and to Finding the Cure. Registration will begin at 9:00 am and the walk will begin at 10:00 am. Early registration is going on now until September 20: Adults $20 and $10 for children 12 and under. Registration after September 20th and on the day of event will be $25 for adults and $15 for children. You may register by going to the Barefoot Landing management office (M-F, 8:00 am-5:00 pm) or by calling the American Cancer Society office at 843-213-0333 (M-F, 8 am-5 pm). Participants receive a "Flock Walk 2013" t-shirt (day of event) while supplies last. The walk will begin and end at the Flying Fish Public Market & Grill. The route will take walkers around the Barefoot Landing for approximately 1.3 miles. On your return to the Flying Fish, there will be a "Flock Party", immediately followed by the "Pink Your Flamingo" finals and live auction. Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity to win great prizes. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of North Myrtle Beach and Little River and Breast Cancer Research. Join the walk, pick up an original piece of art, have some fun and help a good cause with your neighbors all at one event!
