Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach, the area's only Waterway Shopping, Dining and Entertainment Complex, is celebrating the upcoming Halloween holiday with its annual BooFest! The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29, from noon to 4 p.m., in the Lakeview Courtyard, next to the kiddie rides.
This family-friendly event includes costume contests for kids and pets, a pumpkin bouncy house ride, face painting, a balloon artist, corn hole and other kids' activities.
Registration begins at noon for both the kids' and pet costume contests and there is no fee to participate. Upon registration, contestants will receive a Barefoot Landing goodie bag. The kids' competition begins at 1 p.m. and will have three different age categories. The pet contest will follow. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
On Monday, Oct. 31, Barefoot Landing will host "Trick or Treat" for children from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Merchants throughout Barefoot Landing will be ready to greet costumed children and provide treats.
