(N. MYRTLE BEACH, SC) … Announcing Barefoot Landing's October Events to Support Breast Cancer Awareness and the American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society, Barefoot Landing, Freedom Boat Club, Cinzia Spa, FPS Showcase, Dick's Last Resort and the House of Blues invite you to join us to "Pink Out". October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Barefoot Landing and their partners have teamed up to put together three great events to help this worthwhile cause.

The first event, in its fifth year is "Bras Across the Water" which will be Saturday, October 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Bras event has relocated to Barefoot Landing from the Harbourgate Marina. Karen Berry, organizer and founder of the Bras event said, "the Harbourgate folks were incredible to work with, fortunately this event has gotten bigger each year and we have now outgrown that venue. Barefoot Landing, being in North Myrtle Beach seemed like a perfect match. And with the Fall Bike Rally we have some new partners." And Barefoot Landing, being a big supporter of the cause already, was thrilled to host this very popular event. Included in this event are a survivor ceremony, cook out with food from Dick's Last Resort, silent auction, vendors, a Poker Run and even a Mr. and Miss Bras Across the Water contest the night before at the House of Blues. The event is free, although some activities such as the cook out and silent auction, will have a cost with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life North Myrtle Beach. The event will end with a fireworks display immediately following the Survivors' Ceremony.

The second event is the "Pink Your Flamingo" Flock Walk which takes place on Sat., Oct. 11. The Walk starts at 10:00 a.m. at the House of Blues and returns there for prizes, breakfast and celebration. Registration will begin at 9:00 am and the walk will begin at 10:00 am. Early registration is going on now until September 26: Adults $25 and $15 for children 12 and under. Registration after September 26th and on the day of event will be $30 for adults and $20 for children. You may register by going to the Barefoot Landing management office (M-F, 8:00 am-5:00 pm) or by calling the American Cancer Society office at 843-213-0333 (M-F, 8 am-5 pm). Participants receive a "Flock Walk 2014" t-shirt (day of event) while supplies last. The walk will begin and end at the House of Blues. The route will take walkers around Barefoot Landing for approximately 1.3 miles. On your return to the House of Blues, there will be a "Flock Party". Breakfast buffet will be served and there will be an opportunity to win great prizes. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of North Myrtle Beach and Little River and Breast Cancer Research.

A new event this year is the "Drink in Pink" Craft Beer Crawl, which also takes place on Oct. 11 starting at 4:00 p.m. This also benefits the American Cancer Society. Tickets for the crawl are available through the House of Blues box office and include two craft beer samples at the five participating locations of Bully's, Castano's, Flying Fish, Dick's and The Deck at the House of Blues as well as two tickets to see Departure – A Tribute to Journey at House of Blues that evening. All guests are encouraged to dress in pink for this event to show your support. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and $25.00 on Oct. 11. Guests are welcome to call 843-272-3000 for more information.

Make sure to put on your "Pink" and get to Barefoot Landing for any or all of these fun events on Oct. 4 or Oct. 11 to demonstrate the community's commitment to Breast Cancer Awareness and to Finish the Fight.
