Laissez les bon temps rouler… Let the Good Times Roll at Barefoot Landing

The Carnival celebration of Mardi Gras based in New Orleans is making its way to the Carolina Coast as Dick's Last Resort and Castano's Italian Steakhouse bring a little Bourbon Street to Barefoot Landing.

But first, a little history… Mardi Gras often refers to events of the Carnival Celebrations beginning on or after the Christian feasts of the Epiphany and culminating the day before Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday", reflecting the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the formal fasting of the Lenten season.

New Orleans is the reigning home of Mardi Gras and has been for the last 159 years. However, if a trip to Louisiana isn't on your schedule, Dick's Last Resort at Barefoot Landing will have all the celebration you need on February 9th with the 24th Annual Mardi Gras Parade!

The parade begins at 5pm near Greg Norman's Australian Grille following the waterway road and ending at Dick's Last Resort where the Mardi Gras party begins! The party includes drink and appetizer specials and live entertainment, featuring Pale Horse, as well as prizes for Best and Worst floats and a crowning of the Mardi Gras King & Queen!

Also, on February 9th, for a little low key Mardi Gras celebration, head over to Castano's restaurant for fun, food and entertainment! Come dressed in your Mardi Gras best for the costume contest as well as enjoy cocktail specials and festive food including a King's Cake! Celebration begins at 5pm.

So there you have it, a trip down Bourbon street without leaving Barefoot Landing!

So grab a friend, get your beads and let the Good Times Roll!
