Saturday, September 17th brings the annual SeptemberFest! event back to Barefoot Landing and as is the case with each year, there's something new in the works for those who love change. Although not everything is new as some things never go out of fashion, so this year's celebration will again feature the ever popular Duplin Winery's Grape Stomp at the Pepsi Stage from 12 pm to 6 pm
If you choose to participate in the stomp itself, you can purchase your tickets online or the day of the event at the Duplin Winery ticket station at Barefoot Landing starting at 11 am. Whether you've done a Grape Stomp or you haven't, be prepared to jump, laugh, pound and get a little messy. But don't worry, these juicy muscadine grapes won't go into the bottle of wine that you receive in your package when you buy a ticket to stomp. This is the method that you may have seen in the I Love Lucy Show years ago. Things have changed a bit since then. And speaking of Lucy, why not dress the part while you're at it for a chance to win a prize! Ed Piotrowski from WPDE will be on hand to anoint the winner of the best dressed Lucy contest as well as to guest emcee the afternoon stomp off.
If stomping isn't your thing, grab a glass of wine, a craft beer or some other delicious beverage from one or our nearby restaurants, sit back relax and enjoy live music by Purpose at noon and Alan Bibey Project to follow. The kids will have plenty to do with stilt walkers, coloring, characters, face painting, other kids activities and of course the playground right in the heart of Dockside Village.
Let's not forget the pets. The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach will be on hand to take photos of the whole family for a donation. They will also have raffles, auctions and merchandise available to help out the local shelter and its furry residents.
Tickets for the stomp are $35 each and the grape stomp experience, a bottle of Duplin wine and a souvenir wine tumbler are all part of the package.
Don't forget you can always shop, dine and unwind at Barefoot Landing and pets are always welcome, so bring the whole family out on September 17th for this year's SeptemberFest! featuring the Duplin Winery Grape Stomp!
