So it's summer and you're planning your vacation to the beach. Well of course, the beach is top priority, but what else will you and your family do while you're here? There is so much to do and sometimes you can spend several days in one spot doing many different things. Barefoot Landing is one of those places. Whether you have the kids with you or are out for a day full of fun with the adults, there's plenty to keep you busy here.
Morning: Start with a fabulous buffet breakfast at the House of Blues. Afterwards stroll through Barefoot Landing checking out the variety of wildlife to include unique birds, ducks, turtles, fish and more. Then stop at the Salt Shaker Boat Tours location near Tbonz to get your tickets for an hour long guided tour along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway for more sightseeing. Then it's on to shopping and plenty of it as you pick up souvenirs for everyone back home. You'll find North Myrtle Beach gear at Breezin' Up and Myrtle Beach apparel and accessories at Tiki Jim's, Just Horse 'n Around or Crabby Jack's to name a few. And who can go home without Salt Water Taffy, especially when it's delicious and home made from Wee R. Sweetz?
Mid-day: With the need to sit and relax for a bit, it's time for lunch! Wild Wing Café, Dick's Last Resort and Johnny Rockets are just a few of the many great places to get a sandwich, salad, burger and a refreshing beverage. The next stop is Alligator Adventure to experience the world's largest reptile park with gators, crocs, lemurs and other exotic animals. Educational shows and feedings take place throughout the day.
Evening: After a little more shopping, maybe a few rides for the kids at Barefoot Amusements, it's time for happy hour. Unwind and relax with a cold, refreshing drink before dinner at Bully's Pub or Frothy Dog Tavern on the water. Then on to the main course. In the mood for casual dining? Check out Smokin' Hot BBQand Grille or Ultimate California Pizza. Or if something a little more fancy is what you're craving, fine dining like Greg Norman's Australian Grille and Castano's Italian Steakhouse will definitely please your palette. After dinner, watch live entertainment at several different locations throughout Barefoot Landing. From live acoustical music to jugglers, unicyclists, stiltwalkers, face painters and DJ dance parties, there's free live entertainment every night of the week as part of SummerFest! On Mondays wind down with fireworks at 10:15 over the lake.
Late night: Wrap up the day with The ONE show at the Alabama Theatre. Then as you go back to your hotel, condo or home, start to plan day two of your vacation by hitting the things you didn't have time to do at Barefoot Landing on day one like The Barefoot Princess Riverboat, which has sightseeing tours on the Intracoastal Waterway, T.I.G.E.R.S., or MirrorMaze, not to mention numerous other restaurants, shops and entertainment!
