If you're one whose favorite holiday is about ghosts, goblins, costumes, make up, candy and other treats, then you need to plan a trip to Barefoot Landing on Saturday, October 29th. Every year we invite families to come out to take part in our Halloween activities.
Our annual event, BooFest! starts at noon with registration for the costume contests. Children up to 12 years of age can participate in the Kids' Costume Contests and family pets can participate in the Pets' Costume Contest that follows. There will be three age groupings for the children with prizes to be awarded in each age group. Disney fan? Super Heroes? Animals? Cartoon Characters? It doesn't matter as long as you're dressed for some fun! And the furry family members will receive prizes too! (Or should we say, the pet parents will receive prizes!) Each participant will also receive a goodie bag.
The costume contests aren't the only exciting thing happening during BooFest! We will have activities for everyone including face painting, a pumpkin bounce house, petting zoo, balloon artist and more from noon to 4 pm as well! Start planning your costumes now so you can get a jump on the competition.
That evening we will round out the free activities with Hocus Pocus, a classic Halloween movie for everyone in the family starting at 7 pm. And all movie goers will receive a complimentary bag of Colette's movie theater popcorn. If you get hungry between BooFest! and the movie, Castano's restaurant, located in the Carousel Courtyard is offering Kids Eat Free on Saturdays in October (one kids meal per adult entrée purchased.) Or stop by one of our many other great restaurants.
And the grand finale of the season for you lovers of this creepy holiday is Trick or Treat on Monday, October 31st from 5 to 7 pm. Grab your child's bag or favorite thing to carry their candy and go store to store inside Barefoot Landing for safe Trick or Treating.
Don't be scared. Join us for a great family experience starting with BooFest! from noon on 4 pm on Saturday, Oct. 29th, then stick around for Hocus Pocus, a free movie in the courtyard starting at 7 pm. And top it all off with Trick or Treating on the big day, Monday, Oct. 31st from 5 to 7 pm.
