The Lighting of the Landing Brings Holiday Excitement for the Whole Family!

Posted in Special Events , Entertainment

The holidays are upon us! Organizing visits with family, planning for those big holiday meals, football watching and of course, shopping and lots of it!

At Barefoot Landing we can think of no better way than the annual Lighting of the Landing to get you and your family in to the holiday spirit!

Join us as we usher in the holiday season on Saturday, November 19th with a musical celebration beginning at 6 pm and hosted by the Alabama Theatre's very own Greg Rowles. Performances include the cast of the Alabama Theatre opening with a preview of their famous "The South's Grandest Christmas Show". In addition the students from Coastal Performing Arts in Loris will dance their way into your holiday heart, followed by a junior drum line performance from NOIZ of Christ United Methodist Church. Closing out the show is local acoustic musician Chris Elswick, who will lead everyone in a rocking sing a long welcoming Jingles and the Jolly Ole Elf himself, Santa, who with a bit of that North Pole magic will light the Christmas tree and all of Barefoot Landing.

Following the lighting a beautiful fireworks display will light up the sky at 7 pm and Santa and Jingles will stick around until 8 pm for pictures and visits. A petting zoo and a face painter will be on hand for the children as well.

And to help the less fortunate in Horry and Georgetown Counties, bring a new, unwrapped toy as we partner with the Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

So if you're looking for the perfect way to get in the holiday spirit, mark your calendar for the Lighting of the Landing on Saturday, November 19th starting at 6 pm in Lakeview Courtyard near the carousel.
