The Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach and Barefoot Landing Partner to Save Furry Lives in Our Community

Posted in Special Events

You've heard the expression before… don't shop, adopt. Approximately 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted each year. Many are returned to their owners. But each year approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. shelters, so there are still many that need to find a home of their own.

In North Myrtle Beach, the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach (HSNMB) is doing great things to help the homeless animals of our area. Through numerous events and fundraisers in the community to awareness campaigns, the employees and volunteers work tirelessly to find homes for these pets, all while maintaining a clean, safe environment to be housed while they wait for their forever home.

In an effort to help our furry friends, Barefoot Landing has partnered with HSNMB. Each week we will feature an adoptable dog as part of our "Forever Friends Friday" series.
A new dog will appear on our Facebook page every Friday to give each one a little more exposure and hope in finding their new "forever family". "Exposure is a very important part of the process" said Sandi Kendrick, Executive Director of HSNMB. "Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words and that's all it takes for someone to find that new furry family member and fall in love." Keep in mind too, that there are many cats and kittens available for adoption as well. To find about more about adoptable pets go to www.humanesocietynmb.org or go to their Facebook page. And they always need volunteers, so if you like to get involved and help in your community and you love animals, then the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach is the place for you.

Don't forget that Barefoot Landing is pet friendly, so bring the whole family including the furry members to shop, eat and enjoy the scenery!
