In addition to the wristband sales, other fund raisers for the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach took place during the first night of the OktoberFest! event. "We never dreamed we would raise so much money during this first year, but with the support of our community and the partnership of our on-site restaurants, eateries and retailers we are thrilled to be donating over $7,000 to the Humane Society of North Myrtle Beach," said Kim Kelley, Marketing Manager for Barefoot Landing. The Humane Society of NMB, which works with Barefoot Landing on Furever Friend Friday, the Pup Crawl, various adoption events and fundraisers, uses every opportunity it is given to gain exposure and raise awareness of its mission to educate the community while saving the lives of homeless animals in the area. "This community is so supportive of the Humane Society and the animals we try to save.
